why camera is not working in teams
I was wondering why the camera is not working in teams. I would like to know how to fix it.
Hi there! Great question! The answer has two parts. First, the camera may not be turned on in Teams, as that setting defaults to off and you need to turn it on first before it will work.

Second, there might be a hardware issue with your webcam or microphone, so try turning it off and then back on again when you have time for troubleshooting. Let me know how it all goes!

TIP: Click on the down arrow at the top right of your chat window, select "Settings," and then look under "Chat" and find the section called Camera.

The default setting is to not use camera, but you can turn it on by clicking on "Turn camera on." You may need to restart Teams after flipping that switch.

I see there are 2 webcam icons within 2 video call windows. One is yellow and the other one is gray. I don't know which one I should use?

The yellow one has a person's face inside and it's bigger in size (if you compare them side by side).

Many users are reporting that their audio and video is not working. This article will provide possible explanations of what might be causing this issue.

-The first possibility is that the camera was never turned on to capture the video or audio. Check the settings to make sure it's on and click "record".

-The second possibility is that DirectX, a program needed for your computer to process graphical data, may not be working properly which could prevent you from using certain features in Teams.

Right-click on your Windows button and open Device Manager.

If there is an error in the list and the device has a yellow "!" next to it, then you may need to update your DirectX software.

-The third possibility is that you are using a USB camera that is not compatible with Teams. Remove your camera and check if your computer has built-in cameras that you can use instead.

-The last possibility could be something wrong with the camera itself. If you are using a USB webcam, try installing the software for it on another computer to see if it works correctly there and if it doesn't, then there may be a problem with the hardware.

If that's not the problem either, then contact your hardware provider for further assistance.
Below is a list of cameras that are known to work with Teams:

-If you are unsure about what camera you are currently using, you can go to the folder where your Teams recordings are saved. Inside that folder will be a file called "output_video". The text inside the file will tell you what camera was used to take the video. Copy this file to another computer and try opening it in Notepad or another text editor.
